Gary Megson was appointed the West Bromwich Albion assistant manager in the summer of 2017.
West Brom are on the lookout for a new permanent manager following the departure of Tony Pulis.
Megson has been placed in temporary charge of the Baggies, who are in danger of getting relegated from the Premier League to the Championship at the end of the season.
The former Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday manager was appointed the West Brom assistant manager in the summer of 2017.
The 58-year-old has suggested that he does not want to remain the number two at The Hawthorns.
When asked if he would stay on as a number two, Megson told Express & Star: “No, I’ve been an assistant for 12 games and a manager for 650.
“It’s not something I particularly want to do. I wouldn’t have come here if it was somebody else (apart from Pulis).”
West Brom are 17th in the Premier League table at the moment with just 10 points from 12 matches.
The Baggies, who are an established Premier League club, are just a point above the relegation zone.
Megson’s side will face Tottenham Hotspur away from home at the Wembley Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
