Frank de Boer has been linked with the vacant Rangers job.
Former Inter Milan coach Frank de Boer
Frank de Boer has emerged as a strong candidate for the vacant Rangers job, with the Daily Record reporting he would consider the job in the summer.
De Boer’s last high profile position was as Inter Milan boss, and there is one player at the Italian giants he should target as a top priority.
Chilean enforcer Gary Medel would be an outstanding addition for the Gers, and become the player Joey Barton thought that he could be for the club.
Medel is a take no prisoners tough tackling midfielder, who is also capable of playing in central defence.
Nicknamed ‘Pitbull’, he has already seen off Celtic’s Scott Brown once, leading Inter to victory over Rangers’ rivals in the Europa League two seasons ago.
Medel is the type of player who could become a fan favourite at Ibrox, and has experience in British football after a season with Cardiff City, before Inter paid £10 million to snap him up.

The midfielder is still just 29, and is a two-time Copa America winner with Chile. He is the type of player who would lift the rest of the Rangers’ squad, and set the stall out to show that the club mean business.
Younger, remarkably even more aggressive, and better than Scott Brown, Rangers could acquire the leader they currently lack by moving for Medel.
