The Gers are fourth in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 18 points from 10 matches.
Rangers are eight points behind leaders Heart of Midlothian and four behind second-placed Celtic.
Celtic have rediscovered their form and are favourites for the Scottish Premiership title this season.
Rangers assistant manager McAllister – who won the FA Cup, the League Cup, the UEFA Cup and the UEFA Super Cup with Liverpool and the Football League First Division title with Leeds United – has suggested that the Gers can challenge for the Scottish Premiership title this campaign.
McAllister told The Daily Record: “I associate this club with winning things. It’s similar to when I went to Liverpool. If you play here you have a chance of winning things.”

Meanwhile, Rangers midfielder Andy Halliday has names two leaders in the Gers’ dressing room – 36-year-old Scotland international goalkeeper Allan McGregor and 31-year-old Northern Ireland international forward Kyle Lafferty.
McGregor joined Rangers in the summer transfer window on a free, while Lafferty move to the Gers from Scottish Premiership rivals Hearts.
Halliday told The Scottish Sun: “It is a mentality we have tried to drill in since day one, and that helps with a lot of experienced players and pros, like Greegsy, coming back to Ibrox.
“Greegsy is a massive voice in the dressing room, and Kyle Lafferty has been here before and knows what is expected.”
