The Rangers manager Steven Gerrard left Klopp’s side for Ibrox in 2018.

Gary McAllister has responded to Jurgen Klopp’s comments about the Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard.
Gerrard has only been in senior management for little more than a year since he took the Rangers job.
But speaking to Four Four Two his Liverpool counterpart identified the former Reds captain as the man who should replace him at Anfield.
Gerrard was absent from Rangers’ pre-Livingston press conference on Tuesday.
But asked what he made of Klopp’s suggestion, McAllister told the Ibrox side’s official Youtube channel, as a former Liverpool favourite himself: “Surprising, in some ways. But in other ways, to look at it it probably makes a wee bit of sense.
“But when that’s going to be happen… Jurgen looks as if he’s going to be there for quite a while.
“I think it’s a huge compliment. But I can assure you that Steven is absolutely fully-focused on trying to win something here.”

Klopp has previously suggested he could leave Liverpool at the end of his contract in 2022, which is when Gerrard’s current Rangers deal is due to expire.
Gerrard spent the bulk of his playing career on the books of his hometown team, whose Under-18s he managed before Rangers.
The 39-year-old remains in pursuit of his first piece of silverware at Ibrox.
