Rangers assistant manager Gary McAllister has spoken highly of Liverpool-owned Sheyi Ojo to The Glasgow Evening Times.

Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers have signed Ojo from Premier League club Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

Rangers assistant manager and former Liverpool midfielder McAllister has backed the 22-year-old to be a success at Ibrox.

McAllister has outlined what Ojo will bring to the current Rangers, and he believes that he will not be fazed at the prospect of playing in front of demanding fans at Ibrox.

McAllister told The Glasgow Evening Times about Ojo: “I think he ticks a lot of boxes in modern day football. He is technically outstanding, he is left side and he has got good power and pace as well.

“He has got a bit of experience now, Sheyi, he has been out on loan at some good clubs and he has played in some tough leagues as well.

“We are bringing in a player with plenty of experience and he has worked under the expectation levels at Liverpool. They are very similar to here so he won’t be caught out with the fans demanding.”

Good signing for Rangers?

Ojo is a very talented and promising young winger, and the 22-year-old will be a good signing for Rangers.

The English youngster struggled for consistency in his past loan spells, but it could be different for him during his time at Rangers next season.

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard plays an attacking brand of football, and Ojo will relishing playing under the Liverpool legend.

The Gers will be aiming to challenge Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title next season.
