The Rangers star recently committed his long-term future to Ibrox.

Ryan Jack of Rangers FC looks on during the UEFA Europa League group G match between BSC Young Boys and Rangers FC at Stade de Suisse, Wankdorf on October 3, 2019 in Bern, Switzerland.

Rangers assistant manager Gary McAllister has lauded Ryan Jack for his contribution to the club since he and Steven Gerrard arrived at Ibrox, The Daily Record report.

Jack has become an increasingly influential member of the first-team and dressing room over the last 18 months or so. When fit, he is an almost guaranteed starter in Gerrard’s team.

Rather excitingly for Rangers fans though, McAllister thinks he has more to give and is set to improve as he accumulates more knowledge and experience of the game, as well as responsibility.

As quoted by The Record, the former Liverpool man said: “For me, he has been unbelievable from day one.

“He has improved no-end, and you are seeing a midfield player gathering loads of information, experience and being given a bit of responsibility he’s maybe not had in the past.

“You are seeing a player starting to play at the top of his game and it has been a pleasure working with him, and he deserves his new contract without a shadow of a doubt.”

Also praising the player’s training performance, it seems supporters are set to be treated to player’s peak career years. Having invested so much playing time and faith in him, McAllister clearly feels the club are about to see the benefits of that.

Jack might not be the most creative or threatening attacking talent, but he provides a robust presence in the middle of the park. That can be key when winning physical battles in domestic football or breaking up play in European action.

If he can start adding more direct goal contributions to his game he’ll be a real all-round star at Ibrox.

Perhaps that’s where McAllister sees his future, or perhaps he’s just delighted with the leadership qualities he displays on the park.

As question marks continue to be raised about James Tavernier, those could be important in the coming weeks and months.
