Tottenham Hotspur have enjoyed another fantastic season in the Premier League.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino
Gary Mabbutt has heaped praise upon the entire Tottenham squad following their brilliant season, but reserved particular praise for the work done by Mauricio Pochettino and Hugo Lloris, the Daily Mirror reports.
Spurs have enjoyed another excellent campaign. They go into the final handful of games in the Premier League just four points behind leaders Chelsea, having already competed in the Champions League group-stages and having reached the FA Cup semi-final.
And Mabbutt has been full of superlatives for what his former side have achieved this term, insisting that the boss and those in the back line have been particularly impressive.
“His [Pochettino’s] management of young players is outstanding. He identifies them, he nurtures them and he knows how to get the best out of them. He manages the players is in a way that keeps them onside,” he said, as reported by the Mirror.
Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris
“Hugo Lloris, in goal, has been immense. Defensively I think we are the strongest in the Premier League without any doubt.
“Then going forward we have the likes of Victor Wanyama, Mousa Dembele, Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, Harry Kane and Son [Heung Min].
“They’ve all done so well. Even when we have had injuries, players have come in and stepped up to the mark.”

What should excite Spurs fans is that a number of their best players are still young enough that the peaks of their careers should still be to come, so there is surely no reason why they cannot keep building on the promise that they have shown in the last couple of years by winning trophies in the near future.
And they could arguably lay a marker down by pushing during the final four games of the season, ready to pounce if the Blues slip up and leave the door open, thus, also sending out an important message about their intentions for the next campaign.
