Tottenham did not sign a single player in the summer of 2018 or in the January transfer window.
Despite the lack of investment in the squad, Pochettino has guided Spurs to a top-four finish in the Premier League yet again and has also led the North London outfit to the final of the Champions League.
Tottenham legend Lineker believes if the North London club want to keep hold Pochettino, then they will have to give him transfer funds.
Lineker told The Times: “I interviewed [Pochettino] a couple of weeks ago for the Premier League Show; it was the first time I’d actually met him. He’s a very engaging character, clearly massively knowledgeable, insightful on the game, and he’s clearly one of the best managers or coaches in world football.
“But they do need investment, he said that to me himself. And he needs to be backed. I suspect, if he’s not backed, they’ll probably find it quite difficult to keep hold of him. So it really is a seminal moment for Tottenham.”

Investment needed
Tottenham have a good squad, but it is clear that the North London outfit need to sign players in the summer transfer window and need investment in the squad.
If Spurs are to compete with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City for the Premier League title, then they need a stronger squad.
