Gary Lineker has said on Twitter that he does not plan to manage Tottenham Hotspur and has cheekily suggested former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard as a potential candidate.

The former Tottenham and England international striker has made it clear on the social networking site that he does not fancy taking charge of Spurs.

Lineker has also suggested – tongue-in-cheek of course – former Chelsea manager and midfielder Lampard as the potential new boss of the North London club.

The BBC Match of the Day presenter made the comments during Tottenham’s 1-0 defeat to Chelsea at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Thursday evening.

Before the game, Tottenham chairman Lord Sugar predicted on Twitter that a defeat in the London derby could push head coach Mourinho another step closer to being dismissed.

Staying positive

Tottenham’s performance in the first half against Chelsea was hugely disappointing, and the defeat pretty much puts flight to their chances of winning the Premier League title this season.

However, Spurs are still very much in the running for the top four. The North London club are seven points behind fourth-placed Liverpool and have a game in hand.
