Ian Wright criticised Leeds United winger Raphinha on Match of the Day on BBC One on Saturday for his performance against Leicester City, but Gary Lineker was quick to point out that the Brazilian has a lot of quality.
Arsenal legend Wright was not impressed by Raphinha, who missed a good chance in Leeds’s 1-0 defeat to Leicester City away from home at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
MOTD pundit Wright said that the 25-year-old should have done better on the occasion.
That led to MOTD presenter and former Leicester and Tottenham Hotspur striker Lineker to point out that Raphinha has a lot of quality.
Wright said: “I think Raphinha is somebody who has got to do a lot more, very disappointed with the way he played today.
“I think he has got to score that. He is somebody who needs to do more, a lot more, for me.”
Lineker responded: “Has got lots of ability.”
Wright replied: “Too much to be playing as poorly as he played today.”

Raphinha a big player for Leeds United
In our view, we should not be too harsh on Raphinha for his performance for Leeds against Leicester.
Yes, the former Rennes star should have done better, but all players have bad games.
Raphinha is arguably the best player at Leeds, and the winger has consistently proved just how good he is and his importance to the team.
One disappointing game and one missed chance do not make the winger a bad player.
Raphinha has made 24 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for Leeds so far this season.
The Leeds no. 10 has scored nine goals and provided two assists in those games.
