England beat Poland 2-1 on Wednesday evening, and it was another evening to remember for West Ham’s Declan Rice.
The midfielder commanded the centre of the park, and he played with a level of maturity that you’d expect from an absolute veteran, rather than a 22-year-old.
It was hard to watch the England match and not be blown away by Rice, and one viewer who was seemingly seriously impressed was Gary Lineker.
The former England striker used just two words to describe him on social media, hailing Rice as ‘seriously good’.
Seriously good may be something of an understatement from Lineker. The word sensational may have been a more apt description.
Rice is just everything England have been wanting in a midfielder for years at this point, and if the Three Lions are to win the Euros this summer, you’d have to imagine he’ll be at the heart of their charge.
The West Ham star is quickly establishing himself as one of the best midfield players in Europe, and these sort of performances on the international stage are only serving as an extra reminder to how good he is.
