What an encounter it’s shaping up to be between Arsenal and Watford.

Arsenal go into the break with a slender 2-1 deserved lead at Vicarage Road.

Martin Odegaard opened the scoring for the Gunners, calmly slotting beyond Ben Foster after brilliant interplay between the Norwegian maestro and Bukayo Saka.

Here’s how Gary Lineker reacted to that goal on Twitter, describing it as ‘beautiful football’.

Cucho Hernandez equalised for the Hornets shortly after with a stunning acrobatic effort that left Aaron Ramsdale with no chance.

However, Arsenal came back into the contest and re-established their lead when Saka thumped home a second following a brilliant flick from Alexandre Lacazette.

Victory would take Mikel Arteta’s outfit fourth in the Premier League and, even better, they still have two games in hand.

It’ll be a fascinating second 45 minutes in Hertfordshire but with Arsenal boasting the third-best defensive record in the Premier League, you’d fancy them to hang on.
