Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to react after watching Rúben Dias shine for Manchester City in their 2-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain.

The £64.3 million man was absolutely incredible against Mauricio Pochettino’s men, putting his body on the line a number of times.

It all paid off for him and the Citizens, however, as Pep Guardiola’s men secured a clean sheet and also a place in the Champions League final.

After watching his display, Lineker had two words to describe the quality of the Portugal international’s performance.

Even that doesn’t do Dias justice – he was utterly phenomenal.

As WhoScored shows, the 23-year-old made one tackle and four clearances, while also blocking three shots from the Parisians.

Dias finished the game with a 90.3% pass success rate, which was among the best of every player on the pitch.

In our view, Dias has been the signing of the season.

Manchester City desperately needed to replace Vincent Kompany, who was a colossal figure for them at the back.

In Dias, they have found a player who is arguably better, in some respects.

Manchester City’s No.3 can combine old-school defending with the modern-day technical skills of someone like Virgil van Dijk.

He has it all, and at just 23, it’s frightening to think about how good he might become.
