Gary Lineker has shared his honest thoughts on Jürgen Klopp’s astonishing interview with BT Sport’s Des Kelly after Liverpool’s draw against Brighton.

The former Borussia Dortmund boss was in a furious mood, choosing to berate Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder while also throwing in a sarcastic ‘congratulations’ when telling Kelly about James Milner’s injury.

After watching the lively exchange, Lineker tweeted the following.

In truth, it’s good to see a Premier League manager break away from the usual, recycled soundbites which reek of media training and blandness.

However, there is a fine line between being angry at the situation you find yourself in, and taking that out on those who aren’t involved.

At times, Klopp seemed to be getting a bit too aggressive towards Kelly, using the word ‘you’ when referring to BT Sport which gave it an almost personal vibe.

However, it’s presumably very stressful to be a football manager, and these kind of outbursts tend to happen in the footballing world.

Lineker says that he sympathises with Klopp, and it’s hard not to.

After Liverpool finish their game against Ajax on Tuesday, they will have played three games in six days, which really isn’t safe for the Reds players.
