Former Spurs striker Gary Lineker has told the Daily Mail that he thinks playing at Wembley could be a real disadvantage for Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs are back in the Champions League this season having finished third last term, and get their campaign going on Wednesday night with a home clash against Monaco.

Having hammered Stoke City 4-0 in the Premier League on Saturday, Spurs remain unbeaten so far this season, and will head into the Monaco game with confidence and momentum.
However, there is a possible problem looming for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, and that’s the fact that Tottenham will be playing their home games in the Champions League at Wembley Stadium.

With work ongoing at White Hart Lane, impacting the access and capacity needed for UEFA regulations, Spurs have struck a deal to make the short trip to Wembley – but many believe it could be a real problem.
Arsenal were in a similar situation in 1998 and 1999, and lost three of their six games at Wembley, winning just twice, with the switch to Wembley suggested as a major disruption for the Gunners.
Spurs now face similar problems as they attempt to get used to Wembley, and former Tottenham striker Gary Lineker has had his say on the matter – and he believes that playing at Wembley could damage Spurs’ Champions League hopes.

Lineker told the Daily Mail that he thinks that Tottenham could be at a major disadvantage in having the upheaval of essentially having two home grounds, as they won’t have the comforts of White Hart Lane for their big European games.
“I don’t imagine it will help them,” said Lineker. “It’s different because it’s not your home ground. Your home ground gives you comforts. You would suspect it might be a disadvantage. But only time will tell,” he added.
