Gary Lineker posted an interesting and potentially worrying stat about Liverpool on Twitter during the Premier League game against West Ham United this evening.

Liverpool were in action at Anfield, as the defending English champions took on West Ham in the Premier League.

Pablo Fornals put West Ham in the lead after just 10 minutes, but Mohamed Salah restored parity for the home team from the penalty spot on 42 minutes.

Then five minutes from the full-time whistle, Diogo Jota made it 2-1 to Liverpool.

Former Tottenham Hotspur and England international striker Lineker has posted a stat on Twitter about Liverpool’s defence since the day they won the Premier League title last season.

Improvement needed

Liverpool need to get better defensively and have to stop conceding goals.

It is not going to be easy with Virgil van Dijk injured, but manager Jurgen Klopp has to find a way.

Of course, this is turning out to be a strange season in the Premier League, but if the Reds are to finish ahead of Manchester City and win the title again, then defensively they need to improve.

The Merseyside club have conceded as many as 15 goals in seven Premier League matches so far this season.
