Gary Lineker has criticised Everton on Twitter for not winning comfortably during their 1-0 win over Arsenal on Sunday afternoon at Goodison Park.

The BBC Sports presenter was also critical of Unai Emery’s side for being ‘really poor’ on the road again as they missed the chance to go above Tottenham in the league.

The Gunners remain fourth in the table, level on points with Chelsea who can move above them if they can pick up a point or more at home to West Ham on Monday night.

Nonetheless, the Toffees have now won three matches on the bounce, keeping three clean sheets against Arsenal, West Ham and Chelsea.

Here is Linkeker reacting to Everton’s narrow win against the Gunners, as posted on his personal Twitter account:

In the game itself centre-back, Phil Jagielka scored the only goal of the game following a long throw, with the club’s senior man coming into the starting XI as a late replacement.

Regular defender Michael Keane had to drop out at the last minute which saw Jagielka come into the side and score the only goal of the game.

There is no doubt that Marco Silva’s side were the better team throughout the match as they missed a number of good opportunities to hurt their Champions League-chasing opponents
