Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus is in a bit of hot water at the moment.
The Brazilian attacker was issued a straight red card in his country’s Copa America win over Chile in the quarter-final of the competition this morning.
Three minutes into the second half and two minutes after Brazil opened the scoring, the Manchester City star was sent off for a sickening high boot which landed in the chest of Eugenio Mena.
Here’s how Gary Lineker reacted to the footage on Twitter:
Hot head
As a result, the City forward will now miss the Selecao’s Copa America semi-final with Peru on Wednesday.
This isn’t the first time that Gabriel has found himself in trouble on international duty.
In 2019, he was banned from playing for his country for two months after his reaction to being sent off in the final of this competition two years ago.
Mena was able to carry on playing despite what looked like a karate kick to the chest.
But the Gabriel had no complaints on this occasion and genuinely looked upset over the challenge, which could be his last action in the Copa America this year.
