Virgil van Dijk sent an exciting video for Liverpool fans a little earlier on Saturday.

The big Dutchman hasn’t kicked a ball for the Reds since October after being ruled out for the rest of the season through injury.

But the Liverpool stalwart has uploaded a video of himself on Twitter doing a little bit of light running.

And although he’s still nowhere near a return to first-team action, it’s a very encouraging a bit of progress.

Jurgen Klopp has badly missed his £75 million powerhouse since that game at Everton almost five months ago, with the reigning Premier League champions sitting 22 points behind Manchester City.

Van Dijk was the first in a series of central defenders to fall injured for Liverpool since, with Joe Gomez – who was ruled out for the rest of the campaign in the same month – and Joel Matip ultimately joining him in the treatment room.
