As much as £86 million may be needed to prise Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur.
At least, that’s what Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg tweeted out on Tuesday [as covered by HITC Sport], amid speculation about a transfer to Bayern Munich next summer.
Plettenberg added that the Bundesliga champions were pessimistic over the fact that such a ‘massive deal’ is needed to take Kane away from Tottenham.
If he leaves England, the 29-year-old Spurs hitman would effectively bid farewell to the prospect of overtaking Alan Shearer as the Premier League’s most prolific goalscorer of all time.
The iconic Newcastle United marksman has 260 – 65 more than the England international – and Gary Lineker has joked on Twitter that Shearer himself would help Bayern fund the deal, just so Kane leaves the Premier League before breaking the record.

Is Harry Kane going to Bayern Munich?
Well, Kane would want nothing more than to stay at Tottenham and win something under Antonio Conte.
But the Lilywhites out of the League Cup already and eight points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal, there’s a good chance that the North Londoners will not be helping Kane to a first piece of silverware this season.
He turns 30 next summer and will be coming toward the end of his prime years, making it essential that he gets a transfer away if trophies really are what motivates him.
If Bayern come up with a good offer in 2023, it wouldn’t be a massive surprise if he does bid farewell to English football.
