Gary Lineker has responded on Twitter to a projected Manchester United team under Erik ten Hag – and one that includes a certain Tottenham Hotspur player.
The Red Devils confirmed earlier on Thursday that the Ajax manager would be replacing interim boss Ralf Rangnick at the end of this season.
With United being one of the world’s biggest clubs, no doubt the Dutchman will be heavily backed financially in the transfer market.
Tottenham hitman Harry Kane has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in the past, though their city rivals Manchester City were considered a much more probable suitor last summer.
With Kane guaranteed to go another season without winning anything at Spurs, the 28-year-old, who turns 29 in June, could again find himself the subject of a lot of transfer speculation, particularly with Manchester United needing a number nine.
SPORTbible jotted up a potential United XI under Ten Hag next season – and it included the Tottenham striker up top.
Here’s how Lineker reacted to the graphic on Twitter:
Antonio Conte will be absolutely livid if the Lilywhites sell Kane this summer, so much so that he’s liable to walk out on the Hotspur Way outfit himself.
Based on that, you would think that Kane wouldn’t be sold by Daniel Levy.
However, everyone knows how much the player wanted to quit Tottenham last summer and with another season having passed without winning anything, well it would take a brave man to bet their mortgage on the idea that he’s happy to stick around again.
