Speaking on the BBC Match of the Day Top 10 Podcast, Gary Lineker has been discussing reported Tottenham Hotspur target Gareth Bale.
The pundit was tasked with naming the 10 greatest players to never win the Premier League title, and as you can imagine, two-time PFA Player of the Year Gareth Bale made the cut.
Bale was a star at Spurs in the early 2010s, and he’s recently been linked with a move back to Tottenham.
Lineker labelled the Welshman an ‘unbelievable talent’.
What’s been said?
Lineker discussed Bale and his place on this list.
“Gareth Bale, he’s won La Liga, so it’s important to stress that, and he’s won four champions leagues. I don’t think not winning a Premier League massively damages his reputation. He was brilliant in Spain before it went a little bit pear-shaped, but he’s an unbelievable talent,” Lineker said.

Still has a lot to offer
Lineker says things have gone a bit pear-shaped for Bale at Real Madrid, but he still has so much to offer.
Just look at his performance for Wales against Austria last week. He scored two goals while netting one of the best free-kicks you’re likely to ever see.
Last season Bale returned to Spurs, and while he didn’t hit the heights we saw from him during his first spell at the club, he still bagged 10 league goals and looked electric at times.
If Bale does return to Spurs this summer, they will still be getting a fantastic player who can turn any game on its head.
Fingers crossed we haven’t seen the last of Bale in the Premier League.
