Philippe Coutinho’s strong start to life back in the Premier League continued on Wednesday against Leeds United.

Indeed, the Brazilian continued his fine run of form against the Whites, netting a goal and grabbing two assists as the Midlands club drew with Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

It’s fair to say that Coutinho was the man of the moment on Wednesday. He showed exactly what he’s capable of after a patchy couple of years, and to be honest, it was great to see.

One man who was left rather impressed was former England international and current Match of the Day pundit Gary Lineker.

Lineker took to Twitter to give his thoughts on Coutinho’s showing.

The Tottenham legend is spot on about Coutinho. It’s great to see him back to his best and he’s making a massive impact at Villa Park.

When Coutinho arrived at Villa, it was unclear as to how he’d get on. He’d struggled at Barcelona and his confidence was seemingly shattered. However, it hasn’t taken him long to get back into the swing of things in the Premier League.

Coutinho now has four goal contributions in three league appearances for Villa, and if he keeps this up, he could end up going down as one of the signings of the season.
