Tottenham Hotspur legend Gary Lineker has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez’s recent confident claim.
The Arsenal forward suggested that he is in the same league as Barcelona star Lionel Messi and Real Madrid ace Cristiano Ronaldo.
Messi and Ronaldo are (arguably?) the two best players in the world and have been on top of their game for years.
Sky Sports quotes the 27-year-old Chile international as telling Sport: “I have reached a level where I can compete with great players.
“I do not feel inferior to anybody. I liken [my qualities] to Messi and Ronaldo. I have the same abilities as them.”
Former Tottenham and Leicester striker Lineker has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Sanchez’s bold claim.
Sanchez is one of the best players in the Premier League and is a key figure at Arsenal.
The former Udinese and Barcelona star has scored one goal and created five chances in three Premier League appearances for the Gunners so far this season.
During the 2015-16 campaign, the 27-year-old former Cobreloa forward scored 13 goals and created 62 chances in 30 league matches for Arsenal.
Arsenal will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Southampton at the Emirates Stadium in North London in the Premier League.
