Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to react after Guillem Balague shared a concerning update on Newcastle’s pursuit of Unai Emery.
What’s the story?
Well, it seems Newcastle fans may have to wait a bit longer for a new manager, as problems arise in the hunt to replace Steve Bruce.
It looked as if Emery would be hired by Amanda Staveley and the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia.
However, Balague believes the Spaniard will reject the Magpies, as he feels Newcastle’s owners lack a clear vision for the club.
In typical fashion, Lineker attempted to make a cheesy joke out of the news, which you can see below.
The BBC believe Eddie Howe and Paulo Fonseca are the alternatives to Emery, who confirmed the approach from Newcastle yesterday after his Villarreal side won 2-0 in the Champions League.
Newcastle had hoped to have the former Arsenal boss in place by the weekend, although that now looks unlikely.
Unai Emery update should worry Newcastle fans

In our view, it is quite concerning that Emery believes the new owners lack a clear vision for Newcastle.
If he feels that way, then what will other candidates for the vacancy think?
Above all, it’s quite worrying to hear this as PIF and Staveley have been on Tyneside long enough now to possess a clear vision in mind.

The fact they either don’t, or were unable to convey their plans over to Emery in an attractive fashion, doesn’t bode well at all.
With Newcastle six points off safety in 19th, the owners have to step things up and find a replacement for Bruce ASAP – time is of the essence.
