The Dutchman has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Gary Lineker has claimed on Twitter that Tottenham Hotspur will not be the only team interested in Ajax gem Matthijs de Ligt.
Tottenham have been linked with the 19-year-old defender, valued at £69 million by the Dutch giants [The Daily Star].
Ajax’s Champions League adventure, which sees them meet Spurs in the semi-final of the competition, has seen De Ligt’s profile rise in a big way.
And Lineker claims that the North Londoners could face stiff competition in securing his signature, in response to a BBC Sport tweet about the Lilywhites’ apparent interest.
Lineker is right. At this stage, De Ligt is one of the most exciting young players in Europe and one who will undoubtedly be tracked by the continents superpowers, such as Manchester City, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
If he finds himself the subject of a bidding war, there’s simply no way that Tottenham will be able to fight fire with fire, even if they beat Ajax en route to winning the Champions League.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side advanced into the last four after beating City on away goals earlier this week following a pulsating second leg at the Etihad, which the hosts won 4-3 on the night.
