Tottenham Hotspur are still hunting for their new manager, and appear to have missed out on Nuno Espirito Santo too.

Jose Mourinho was sacked back in April, but more than two months on, Tottenham have still yet to find his replacement.

Nuno looked to be the new favourite, but it now seems that he will join the likes of Antonio Conte, Paulo Fonseca and Gennaro Gattuso in slipping through the net.

Nuno to snub Tottenham for Fenerbahce?

It looked like Nuno was set for Tottenham. The Daily Mail reported last week that Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici were on the same page about appointing Nuno.

The Portuguese boss is out of work after leaving Wolves, and whilst fans weren’t excited about the move, it seemed that Tottenham were going ahead with a move for Nuno.

Instead, Nuno is set to take the Fenerbahce job according to Fanatik, picking the Turkish club rather than holding out for the Tottenham job.

Lineker reacts to Nuno rumour

Former Tottenham striker Gary Lineker has now taken to Twitter to react to the news, and he thinks there’s one man who is perfect for the job if Nuno doesn’t want it.

Lineker suggested that Jurgen Klinsmann – his current colleague on BBC’s Euro 2020 coverage – would ‘love the job’ and is great fit thanks to his charisma, knowledge and connection to the fans as a former Tottenham player.

Lineker did then rule himself out of the job just in case anybody actually thought that was a possibility, but few would ideally want to see Klinsmann take the job after his recent managerial record.
