Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho’s recent comments about Dele Alli.

Following the defeat to Chelsea in the Premier League on Thursday evening, Tottenham boss Mourinho referred to Alli in his post-match comments.

The 24-year-old England international midfielder did not play in the game, and the Portuguese’s comments on him were rather unprompted.

When asked about Tottenham’s lack of threat in the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea in the London derby, Mourinho said, as quoted in The London Evening Standard: “Well, [Sergio] Reguilon means something for our attacking football. Harry Kane means something for our attacking football.

“Gio Lo Celso again means something for our attacking football. A good Dele Alli that we didn’t have yet but hope that we can have in the future means something for us.”

Former Tottenham striker Lineker does not seem impressed that Mourinho decided to blame Alli for his side’s defeat to Chelsea.

Bring Dele Alli back into the team

Alli has struggled for regular playing time for Tottenham this season and has even been left out of matchday squads.

According to WhoScored, the 24-year-old midfielder has made one start and three substitute appearances in the Premier League.

The England international midfielder has made two starts and two substitute appearances in the Europa League for Spurs so far this campaign, according to WhoScored.

Spurs are not in good form at the moment and need to be more creative. Mourinho should seriously consider bringing Alli back into the fold.
