Everton beat West Ham United 2-0 at Goodison Park on Sunday.
Former Everton striker Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to react to the Toffees’ win over West Ham United.
The Blues hosted Slaven Bilic’s team at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon looking to turn around a run of four games without a win in the league.
They managed to do just that as goals from Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley in the second half saw them to a 2-0 victory over the Hammers.
The result was built on an impressive defensive display as Everton managed to limit their opponents to just three shots on target throughout the game.
And Lineker was keen to praise the new found defensive solidity in their game when he reacted to the result on Twitter.
The result leaves Everton sitting in sixth place in the table with 18 points from their first ten games of the season.
They have conceded just eight goals so far, the second best record in the division and a big improvement on last season when they had let in 13 goals at this stage of the campaign.
They take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge next week and will need to continue to show their new-found defensive solidity to leave London with a positive result.
