The result means that Jurgen Klopp’s side are now second in the league table with 70 points from 29 matches, a point behind leaders Manchester City.

Former Tottenham and Everton striker Lineker was following the match, and he has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the final result, and believes that the title is now in the hands of City.

Title challenge over?

Liverpool are only a point behind City, and it is too early to write off their chances of winning the Premier League title.

After all, Pep Guardiola’s side could well drop points, and Liverpool could go on a winning run.

What is clear, though, is that the Reds need to step up and have to take the chances they create against their opponents.
