West Ham United were simply awful as they lost 3-0 to Southampton today – and a host of pundits were far from impressed with their performance.

The Hammers went into the game having lost their last three Premier League games with an aggregate scoreline of 11-5 as Slaven Bilic’s defence struggled massively.

Bilic will have been hoping for an upturn in fortunes today, but instead he got much of the same, as West Ham succumbed to a 3-0 defeat to Southampton.

Charlie Austin’s smart finish from a Ryan Bertrand pass opened the scoring, before Dusan Tadic and James Ward-Prowse were given the freedom of East London to waltz through and complete a 3-0 win.

The Hammers have now lost four on the bounce and can’t stop conceding goals, with manager Bilic now under huge pressure even after last season’s seventh place finish in the Premier League.

During and after the game, a host of pundits took to Twitter to give their view on a shambolic West Ham performance, with Gary Lineker amongst them.

Lineker suggested that West Ham’s move to the London Stadium has seen them move ‘from the Boleyn Ground to the bogey ground’ after a dismal start to life in their new home.

Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier stated that West Ham are a shadow of the team that impressed so much last season, whilst Phil Neville suggested he isn’t sure West Ham will avoid trouble at the bottom of the table, and Chris Sutton called their display ‘pathetic’.
