Tottenham Hotspur lost 1-0 at home to Manchester United this afternoon.

Tottenham Hotspur were left frustrated as they lost 1-0 to Manchester United at Wembley Stadium this afternoon.
After five wins from five under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, this was billed as the biggest test of United’s resurgence since Jose Mourinho’s exit.
United were superb on the counter in the first half though, as Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford exploited gaps in the Spurs defence and looked hugely threatening with their pace.
Eventually, United did take advantage as Paul Pogba picked out Rashford down the right flank, and he drove his shot low past Hugo Lloris to give United a 1-0 lead.
Spurs rallied after the break and were virtually dominant, hitting shot after shot at the United goal, only to see David De Gea rack 11 saves in a stunning performance.
Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Fernando Llorente and Toby Alderweireld were among the players to test the Spaniard, but Spurs just couldn’t get the ball over the line in a frustrating loss.

Spurs were disappointing in the first half but really impressed in the second, and Gary Lineker took to Twitter to react to their display.
Lineker praised Spurs as being ‘terrific’ after the break against United, but heaped praise on goalkeeper De Gea for being like Spiderman between the sticks to keep Spurs out.
