Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane faces a spell on the sidelines after sustaining an ankle injury.

Kane was seen clutching his ankle in pain as the final whistle blew at Wembley.

After he underwent an assessment, Tottenham have confirmed Kane will be out for several weeks.

He has damaged his ankle ligaments, for the fourth time in successive seasons.

Pundit Gary Lineker spelled out the blow to Tottenham’s season.

Tottenham are short of options up front, especially with Heung-Min Son now away at the Asian Cup.

Despite this, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is adamant he will not call on fit again Vincent Janssen.

For now there is a lot of pressure on Fernando Llorente to step up, with a bit of help from the academy, until Spurs can find a solution in the transfer market.
