Tottenham defender went toe to toe with Harry Kane at international level.

Tottenham Hotspur stars Harry Kane and Davinson Sanchez battled to the very end last night as England and Colombia met in the World Cup last 16.
Spurs striker Kane scored from a penalty before Colombia equalised to force extra time and penalties.

England won a dramatic shootout late on with Eric Dier scoring the winning spot kick.
Sanchez was terrific in defence alongside Colombia’s goalscorer Yerry Mina.
Former Spurs and England star Gary Lineker commented on Twitter in praise of Sanchez’s performance.
Former Spurs star Graham Roberts also praised Sanchez.
Sanchez will return to Spurs after a break with his head held high, and none of the England players will be able to give him much stick.
The centre-back proved his quality in a high pressure character building match and that has to be good for his club going forward too when it comes down to crunch time for Spurs.
