Tottenham finished their season with a 2-2 draw at home to Everton today, with Christian Eriksen scoring his side’s equaliser, and Gary Lineker took to Twitter, highlighting the significance of the strike.

The Dane’s strike, the 1,067th of the Premier League season, broke the record for most goals scored since the Premier League changed to 20 teams, and Lineker instantly posted a tweet in celebration of the feat:

Spurs have enjoyed a decent Premier League campaign, and they finished in fourth spot.

Tottenham also have a Champions League final against Liverpool to look forward to on June 1st.
