Roberto Firmino opened the scoring for the Reds on 13 minutes, before £34 million Sadio Mane doubled the advantage on the half-hour mark as Liverpool looked in cruise control.
That being said, the Premier League champions gave Jurgen Klopp’s side something to think about during the break when Jamie Vardy halved the deficit on 38 minutes.
But second-half goals from Adam Lallana and Firmino capped a fine win for Liverpool, who leapfrog Arsenal into fifth – one point behind Spurs in fourth.
Klopp’s troops have now netted nine times in four games – only Manchester City have scored more, with 11 – and the Merseysiders certainly look an outstanding attacking force to be reckoned with so far this season.
And Leicester fan and former striker Gary Lineker was gracious in defeat as he acknowledged Liverpool’s final-third quality.
The Match of the Day host also retained his sense of humour despite the result, claiming champions Leicester – 15th in the table – will focus on winning the Champions League this season instead of defending their title.
