Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer have praised Liverpool’s decision to name a stand at Anfield after club legend Kenny Dalglish.
Liverpool announced the news yesterday afternoon, that the new Centenary Stand will from next season be titled The Kenny Dalglish Stand in recognition of his ‘unique contribution’ to the club’s history.
Dalglish won league titles as a player and manager and his on and off pitch actions are revered by supporters, not just of Liverpool.

Former Premier League strikers Lineker and Dalglish both took to Twitter to praise the move.
Dalglish managed Liverpool for two separate spells, the most recent ending in 2012, when he was replaced by Brendan Rodgers.
He was a six time title winner with the Reds as a player, also lifting one FA Cup, four League Cups, and three European Cups.

As a manager he won three league titles, two FA Cups and one League Cup, while also winning the league title with Blackburn Rovers.
He has remained out of the game and worked as an ambassador for Liverpool since his 2012 exit.
