Everton got the better of Leicester 4-2 at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
It saw the Toffees return to winning ways in the league after a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield and a 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Former Everton and Leicester striker Lineker has praised the performance of Ronald Koeman’s side.
Everton could have done better defensively against Leicester, but overall their performance was very encouraging and positive.
A top-six finish is still unlikely for the Merseyside outfit, but the Toffees can certainly end up seventh in the Premier League this season.
Koeman’s side are seventh in the league table at the moment with 54 points from 32 matches.
Everton’s next game is against Burnley at Goodison Park in the Premier League next weekend.
