Derby County troubled Chelsea throughout the League Cup tie last night, with Frank Lampard’s side impressing.

Ex-Spurs player Gary Lineker looks on prior to the Barclays Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United at White Hart Lane on April 10, 2016 in London, England.

Gary Lineker has praised Derby County’s display against Chelsea last night.

Derby may have came off the pitch at Stamford Bridge without the victory, but they still managed to do themselves a lot of credit.

The Rams were at their free flowing best at Stamford Bridge, and managed to cause Chelsea plenty of problems.

And Lineker was very impressed by what he saw from Frank Lampard’s side.

Derby fell behind three times during the contest, but Chelsea just couldn’t shake them off.

The Rams scored through Jack Marriott and Martyn Waghorn and stayed competitive all the way through the match.

Derby have now performed well at both Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford this season, which highlights the potential in their squad.

Lampard’s side are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Birmingham City.
