What a performance by Nick Pope at Liverpool this afternoon.

The Burnley goalkeeper produced a herculean display between the sticks as the Clarets left Anfield, home of the Premier League champions, with a point.

Pope denied Liverpool time and time again during both halves, though he could do nothing about the quality of Andy Robertson’s first-half header.

Jay Rodriguez equalised for the visitors midway through the second half as Jurgen Klopp’s side failed to win at home for the first time in 18 months – a stunning record.

It was a brilliant performance by Burnley, but one made possible by their heroic goalkeeper.

And here’s how Gary Lineker reacted to the result on Twitter:

Performances like that are a big, big reminder that Sean Dyche has one of the Premier League’s finest goalkeepers at his disposal.

But with it being so close to the summer transfer window, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if he has many suitors looking to sign him.

Pulling off that kind of performance is impressive against anybody, but if you’re denying the likes of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah then it takes on extra significance and no doubt clubs will be watching – if they weren’t already.
