Newcastle have finally sacked the head coach but have been slammed for their conduct.
Gary Lineker has aired his strong views about Newcastle United on Twitter after they sacked Steve McClaren.
The head coach was struggling all season and a terrible campaign has led to him being dismissed with the Magpies sitting in the relegation zone.
What was incredible about his sacking, though, was the fact Newcastle were speculated to have made the decision on Monday.
Since then, there had been no word – until as late as Friday afternoon.
And Lineker has slammed the ‘beyond shambolic’ running of ‘great football club’ Newcastle.
Newcastle are expected to appoint Rafa Benitez. Can he keep them up – or take them up if they go down?
Naturally, there will have to be major changes at Newcastle if they are to function properly post McClaren.
