Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to react after Aston Villa announced the appointment of Steven Gerrard, and Norwich close in on Frank Lampard.
What’s the story?
Well, it’s been a very, very busy day in the Premier League.
Firstly, Aston Villa announced the arrival of Gerrard on a three-and-a-half year contract, as they moved swiftly to replace Dean Smith.
Then, the Daily Mail revealed that Norwich are closing in on Lampard as they search for Daniel Farke’s replacement.
You can see what Lineker thought of both stories below.
As the BBC Match of the Day host wrote, it seems Gerrard and Lampard just can’t stay away from each other, even after retiring as players!
It’s starting to feel like a game of Football Manager has gone on for too long!
Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard return is exciting

To have these two greats of English football back in the Premier League is hugely exciting, and we can’t wait to see how they get on.
In Gerrard’s case, this is a step into the unknown, as he’s only ever managed in Scotland having started work at Rangers in 2018.
The Villans are a massive club, so the pressure is certainly on the 41-year-old.
In Lampard’s case, it’s also a step into unfamiliar territory, despite holding the reins at Derby and Chelsea in his managerial career.

The 43-year-old has never been hired as a Premier League firefighter, so to speak – this is usually a job for the likes of Sam Allardyce and Tony Pulis.
Norwich find themselves bottom of the Premier League after 11 games, having taken just five points from a possible 33.
Make no mistake about it, both Gerrard and Lampard have huge tasks on their hands, and we can’t wait to see how they fare.
