Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Arsenal’s failure to progress to the final of the Europa League this season.
Arsenal have played out a goalless draw with Villarreal at the Emirates Stadium in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final tie this evening.
The Gunners lost the first leg of the tie 2-1 in Spain last week, meaning that the Premier League club have lost 2-1 on aggregate.
Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Lineker was following the match, and he has given his take on the final result.
Match Stats
Over the course of the 90 minutes at the Emirates Stadium in North London on Thursday evening, hosts Arsenal had 56% of the possession, took 14 shots of which two were on target, and earned eight corners, according to BBC Sport.
Visitors Villarreal had 44% of the possession, took eight shots of which two were on target, and earned five corners, according to BBC Sport.

Disappointment
Arsenal did have chances to score against Villarreal. Star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was denied by the frame of the goal not once but twice.
The Gunners will be hugely disappointed at not getting through to the final against their former manager Unai Emery.
Emery is a serial winner of the Europa League, and it should not really come as a surprise that he has been able to guide Villarreal to the final, which will be against Manchester United.
