Everton beat Bournemouth 2-0 at Goodison Park this afternoon.

Everton picked up a much-needed home win this afternoon as they beat Bournemouth 2-0 at Goodison Park thanks to goals from Kurt Zouma and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The Toffees had been in poor form of late, and hadn’t won a home league game since the 24th of November against Cardiff City.
Marco Silva’s men were pretty dire in the first half against Bournemouth, and were lucky not to be 1-0 down as David Brooks ran through and hit the post.
However, Everton came out fighting in the second half, and went in front as Lucas Digne’s cross was headed home at the near post by Zouma.
Bournemouth attempted to rally but were hit the second late on, with Ademola Lookman teeing up Calvert-Lewin to stroke home a second.
Everton fans will be relieved after such a disappointing Christmas, and one player really impressed in left back Digne, who set up the first goal and was an attacking threat throughout.

The Frenchman was a major signing by director of football Marcel Brands over the summer, and the ex-Barcelona man has been one of the top left backs in the Premier League this season.
After setting up Zouma’s goal, ex-Everton striker Gary Lineker took to Twitter to praise Digne as a ‘quality’ full back and an excellent signing, something Everton fans – and Brands – will certainly agree with.
