Tottenham Hotspur have won just once in their last nine outings.
Gary Lineker has told BT Sport’s Champions League Catch Up Show that he doesn’t understand where Tottenham Hotspur’s high press has gone.
Tottenham were beaten 2-1 by Monaco in the Champions League on Tuesday, and their performance was very poor.
Spurs were well off the pace, as the Ligue 1 side created numerous chances against them.
Lineker feels that Tottenham would have lost by more if it wasn’t for Hugo Lloris, and the former Lilywhites striker believes the intensity has disappeared from Mauricio Pochettino’s side’s game.
“The high press, where has that gone? Where’s it gone,” Lineker questioned.
“If it wasn’t for Hugo Lloris’ magnificence, and not for the first time this season. [Spurs would have lost by more].”
Lloris saved a penalty from Radamel Falcao during the contest, and he also made a series of excellent stops to keep Spurs in the match.
However, even after Harry Kane scored from the penalty spot, Tottenham were not able to cause Monaco much threat.
Tottenham are now out of the Champions League, after a miserable European campaign.
Spurs are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
