The Frenchman made two big mistakes against Manchester City.

Tottenham Hotspur drew 2-2 with Manchester City in the Premier League today. Spurs were 2-0 down before goals from Dele Alli and Heung-min Son pulled Spurs level at the Etihad in a game the home side dominated.

But for City’s dominance, they could only thank the hapless nature of Hugo Lloris’ performance for their two goals.

The Frenchman is considered one of the most reliable goalkeepers in the world but he struggled this evening.

He failed to clear the ball before Leroy Sane’s opener and then spilled Raheem Sterling’s cross at the feet of Kevin De Bruyne for City’s second.

It was certainly something that former Tottenham striker and Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker did not see coming.

He posted this tweet during the game, as Lloris had a day to forget:

Tottenham fans will not thank Lineker for putting the hoodoo on their goalie.

But they will also not be mad at Lloris for long. The captain is usually reliable and at times has saved countless points for Tottenham with his brilliant performances in the Premier League.

Hopefully this was just a one off.
