Gary Lineker was impressed by Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane after he offered to make two unfortunate Spurs fans his special guests at a home game later this season.
Nice gesture
Two Tottenham fans had travelled from America to watch their beloved side play against Burnley at Turf Moor.
However, after embarking on an arduous journey, which required them to go 31 hours without sleep, the game was called off just before kick-off.
It was a heartbreaking turn of events for the Tottenham supporting couple.
But Kane at least did his best to brighten their day, by offering them a chance to come and watch the Lilywhites in style at a home game.
It was a lovely gesture from the England captain.
And one which both Lineker and Graham Roberts praised on social media.
A tough trip
Unfortunately for numerous other Tottenham fans who travelled to Burnley, they weren’t so lucky.
After such a long journey, it is a shame that the game wasn’t called off with more advanced warning.
Tottenham have not yet announced any plans as a club to reimburse supporters who did travel, but they may look to show a token of their appreciation in due course.
Spurs ultimately finished the weekend in seventh place in the Premier League table, with a number of results going in their favour, as Antonio Conte’s side look to chase down the top four.
