Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to give his honest verdict on a controversial incident involving Aston Villa and Manchester City.
The BBC Match of the Day host was commenting on the decision which saw Bernardo Silva’s goal at the Etihad Stadium awarded despite mass protests.
Rodri had come from an offside position to rob Tyrone Mings of the ball, before the Portugal international eventually took possession and scored.
The Professional Game Match Officials Ltd (PGMOL) have since come out and added some guidance to the rule, which will be provided to officials as the Daily Mail exclusively revealed.
Following the PGMOL’s analysis of the incident, such a goal will not stand in future, in news that is sure to infuriate Aston Villa fans.
In Lineker’s case, it certainly seems to have infuriated him.

The fact that Rodri was allowed to just stand offside, sneak up on Mings and take the ball from him is ridiculous.
Dean Smith’s men were truly hard done by at the Etihad Stadium.
It’s a small consolation that no other side will have to experience such a foolish decision go against them.
In Villa’s case, however, that small consolation won’t get them their lost points back.
