Leicester City have snapped up Newcastle United’s Ayoze Perez.

Newcastle United appear to be lurching from one piece of bad news to another, with forward Ayoze Perez leaving the club earlier today.
The Magpies’ proposed takeover appears to be falling away, and they confirmed last week that Rafael Benitez has left the club after the expiration of his contract.
As if that wasn’t enough, Newcastle have also announced that forward Perez has departed, joining Premier League rivals Leicester City.
The Foxes have activated a release clause in Perez’s contract, meaning Newcastle couldn’t stand in the Spaniard’s way, and he decided to go.
It’s fair to say that Perez has endured an up and down time with Newcastle since arriving from Tenerife in 2014, with a particularly mixed relationship with fans.
Perez did though end the season with eight goals in 10 games for Newcastle, showing just how good he can be, and Brendan Rodgers has now signed him to support Jamie Vardy at Leicester.

After securing the deal, Match of the Day host, ex-Leicester striker and Foxes fan Gary Lineker took to Twitter, believing Perez is a good signing who impressed him last season.
Lineker then mocked Match of the Day colleague and Newcastle legend Alan Shearer, telling him that Leicester will look after him, before Shearer sarcastically suggested he’s happy for Lineker.
