Pundit and Match of the Day host Gary Lineker is predicting trophies for Arsenal in the very near future after beating Newcastle United.
The Gunners headed up to Tyneside on Sunday afternoon with Mikel Arteta needing a win.
Manchester City’s victory over Leeds United on Saturday put the pressure on Arsenal to respond with a win of their own.
Arsenal came through a testing start to take a 1-0 lead thanks to Martin Odegaard’s superb strike.
Newcastle kept pushing the Gunners but just couldn’t break through before Fabian Schar’s own goal ended the game as a contest.
Arsenal will be delighted to have grabbed three points from this game as Newcastle seemed like a potential slip-up point for Arteta’s side.
Whether Arsenal win the title or not, they are pushing this fight all the way – and Gary Lineker is certainly impressed.

Gary Lineker comments on Arsenal
Lineker has taken to Twitter this evening in order to comment on Arsenal’s season and their future.
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker believes Arsenal will ‘probably’ end up finishing second behind Manchester City.
However, Lineker praised the ‘serious progress’ Arsenal have made under Arteta this season.
You only have to look at Arsenal’s collapse at Newcastle around this time last year to see how far they have come.
Lineker hailed Arteta, suggesting that he has done a simply ‘brilliant’ job as Arsenal boss this season.
Lineker added a prediction, suggesting that Arsenal will be winning trophies very soon even if they miss out on the Premier League title.
Maybe that will be a Premier League title next season, or maybe domestic trophies like the Carabao Cup or FA Cup moving forward.
Arsenal fans will dream about winning the Champions League though and why not?
The Gunners are a quality side and seemingly moving forward all the time under Arteta and a big summer could take them another step forward.
